Most gummies look similar on the outside — bright colors, strong flavors, glossy finishes.
But when you turn the bottle around, almost all of them rely on the same hidden additives.
At Ora, we chose not to.
We built our gummies around one core belief:
If an ingredient stresses the nervous system, feeds pathogens, or burdens digestion, it doesn’t belong in a daily wellness product.
Here’s where we draw the line — and why it changes everything.
Citric Acid: The Industry Standard We Refused
Citric acid is in nearly every gummy on the market. It’s used to boost flavor, extend shelf life, and create that sharp “tang.”
What most people don’t realize is that citric acid in packaged foods is not from fresh citrus. It’s an industrial additive, typically produced by fermenting corn sugars with mold.
From a neurological and gut-health perspective, this matters.
This form of citric acid is known to:
-
Irritate and inflame the brain and nervous system
-
Feed pathogens, including viruses such as EBV
-
Trigger symptoms like anxiety, brain fog, headaches, and dizziness
-
Weaken neurotransmitter function over time
-
Act as a corrosive irritant to sensitive tissues, including the gut–brain axis
For something taken daily — especially by sensitive adults or children — this isn’t a small detail. It’s a dealbreaker.
That’s why Ora gummies contain zero citric acid.
Not “less.” Not “natural flavored.” None.
Carnauba Wax: The Shiny Coating No One Talks About
That glossy finish on most gummies?
It usually comes from carnauba wax.
Carnauba wax is a hard, industrial wax used to prevent sticking and improve appearance. While it’s often labeled as plant-based, it is not a food ingredient and offers no nutritional value.
More importantly, it can:
-
Be difficult for the digestive system to break down
-
Interfere with nutrient absorption in sensitive individuals
-
Add unnecessary workload to the liver
-
Exist purely for appearance, not wellness
Most companies use it because it looks better on shelves.
We left it out because your body isn’t a shelf.
Ora gummies are intentionally uncoated — cleaner, more digestible, and made to support the body, not polish the product.
The Rest Matters Too — So We Left It Out
To truly create a calm, clean gummy, we also excluded:
-
Artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives
-
Artificial sweeteners and corn syrup
-
Gelatin
-
Genetically modified ingredients
Not because it’s trendy — but because these additives add stress without benefit.
A New Standard for Gummies
Very few gummy brands are willing to remove both citric acid and carnauba wax.
They’re considered industry essentials.
We don’t see them that way.
At Ora, we believe wellness products should:
-
Support the nervous system
-
Be gentle on digestion
-
Avoid feeding pathogens
-
Respect the body’s natural balance
That’s how we’re changing the gummy category — not by adding more, but by removing what never belonged there in the first place.
